Due for a long runjust now, but as I crept down the stairs I felt an ache in my glute. Went to the chiropractor a few weeks ago and he diagnosed something different to do with my gluteus minimus this time. I will be taking it easy and stretching and foam rolling. He noted by hips and rotators were limited in range of motion. I want to avoid prerace injury so I will be visiting him again.

Great Information Chad. Will certainly keep this in mind. THanks! One problem I have with my glutes is that of after a long run. THen I work (driver)14 hours sitting on it and get a feeling like restless butt syndrome. When I get to a stop and walk I feel better. But the nights of my long runs, I feel like walking 100000 miles. Do you know what causing this man? Thanks.
I would go ahead and say that sitting for long periods is always not good. I find my ITB issues flare up as do my piriformis issues as sitting shortens the leg and the circulation and posture gets worse with fatigue. I need to do stretches throughout the day. Every hour or so needs to be broken up for at least a ten minute break from sitting.
Good points Chad. As a result of my job. I have taken the notion of stopping at least once every 1-2 hours and getting out of the truck and stretching (walking). I started doing this a week ago, and have had very good results.
I am finding this stretch to linger in soreness and Im not sure if its benefitting. It certainly feels like I am doing something good, but my hip is pretty sore in that area now.
I have a knot in my glute which the Massage Therapist tortues out but it reappears frequently...so annoying. But I find if I stretch it everynight, it really does better! Hope it's behaving for you better! Thanks for stopping by my blog :).
Massage therapy is essential isnt it? I wish I could go more!
thanks to you for also stopping by Jill. Do so anytime! :)
