Had toblog about my run i just finished.I completed my 5.3 k in 24 minutes. Not my beest time, but considering my times lately, and the amount of energy I have been having, I consider this a boost! That turns out to just about a 4:30/km. Motivators: A friend on Daily mile (Brian) has been working hard last month to gain, and his pr from highschool got nearly met at 19 minute 5 k! This along with a more local friend her ein town has been laying it down and inspiring me to kick it up.
Now ith the 100 pushups, it fell apart, and I am not giving up, but since our trip I have not been chipping away at that goal. More core work is needed.
What inspires you to hit the pavement with more vigor?

I'm a perfectionist, which isn't always a good thing, but that pushes me to work harder. I'll do whatever it takes!
I think that that is a common runner's characteristic (perfectionism), also " high intelligence (apparently from what I read!). Thanks for motivating my a** to new levels, cuz I have been in a wierd SLUMP!
I think a bit of lost weight would also help speed me up, but that means changing a few er.. habits I love.
ALso that core work to keep form through fatigue.
I honestly haven't changed many eating habits at all, except that I usually split a meal when we go out to eat). And I'll admit that I don't do any core work. None at all.
But losing weight is key to speeding up; I'm down 40# since 2005, and from 2009 to 2010 I lost 10# and dropped a minute from my 5K.
No core work eh? Hmmm..... there is hope for me yet.
So overall...50 # ? Wow. we are similar! You have had no injuries from overtraining? That is good too!
