It looks like you are making excellent progress and like Ewen, I think you will have no problem breaking the 40 min/10k mark. Weight is certainly a huge issue. I have talked to a number of low 2:50 marathon guys which is my specialty (if you want to call it that!). I was shocked when I heard there competitive running weights.
